Welcome to Villa Florentine

In Lyon, time is reaching new heights. Perched on the hilltop which is home to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, Villa Florentine has overlooked the city for centuries. Up here, the world seems to slow down and time reverts to its natural rhythm.
Originally a convent but now a hotel, Villa Florentine entered a new era.
Its new lease of life will been tirely in keeping with its long-standing identity, as a quintessential Lyonnais icon with a monastic heritage and a Florentine feel.

OUr Maison

The renaissance of a timeless icon

Elegant high-ceiling room with dark wood furniture, beige carpet, and a chandelier.

Built in the 17th century, in the wake of the influx of Italian artists and merchants to Lyon following the marriage of Henry IV and Marie de Medicis, Villa Florentine was first a convent and then a charitable home for girls. With its remarkable history, inspired by tranquility, community and hospitality, the building stands proudly above the city and is recognized as an icon.

Currently undergoing comprehensive renovations, led by the interior designer and art curator Joséphine Fossey, Villa Florentine will be completely transformed, all with the utmost respect for its original structure and listed architecture. Both magical and mystical, it will be the ultimate destination for fine dining and wellness, designed to delight the senses and encourage lingering stays.

The ideal starting point from which to explore Lyon, Villa Florentine is conceived as a cultural vantage point: a destination which feels both familiar and sophisticated and a welcoming space which is open to the people of Lyon, designed to encourage them to while away the hours, reconnect and experience the city differently.

Clean lines, natural materials and sumptuous fabrics create soothing spaces which overlook the city, the hill on which the hotel is built and its gardens. Offering understated luxury, this accommodation is the perfect setting in which to unwind, admire the surroundings and revel in the delight of waking up with panoramic views of Lyon.

RESTAURANTS, BAR & tea room

The ultimate culinary destination

At Villa Florentine, dining becomes a language. The completely redesigned gourmet restaurant will be complemented by a bistronomic counter, a speakeasy bar, and a tea room.

The cuisine will express itself through the ingredients, the right technique, and respect for time.

The tea room will offer a unique tea time experience. A host of experiences open to travelers and Lyonnais alike, to be enjoyed as much for the taste as for the moment.
